About Us

(Left to Right): Robert Wash, Tamsen Munger & Arianna Genini

My dad, Carl Nichols, started Tamsen Munger Gallery in the late 1970s when he retired. I bought the company from him in 1988 and moved it to its present location. As a child, I grew up around aviation art.

During WWII, Dad was in the 8th AF and was stationed in England. He was the intelligence officer for the 34th Bomb Group stationed in the Ely area of England. We had pictures of B17s and B24s in the family room and I thought it was just natural decor. It became even more natural for me when I married a military man. That's when I knew EVERYONE had aviation art in their family room!

Carrying aviation art was also natural. Military Gallery dealership was granted in 1986. Dad and I worked until he finally retired for the second or third time in 1991. Robert Wash (Bob) join the company in 1991 and has been my right hand man ever since. His knowledge of aviation and automotive subjects is amazing and I marvel at his photographic memory for all subjects historic.

Over the years we have added a fine line of gifts including many Russian pieces, like Lomonosov porcelain, due in part to Bob's interest in all things Russian. Now, we also look for the most unique gifts we can find from all over the world.

Our artwork has diversified also. I think we have one of the finest selections of limited edition art and etchings around -- unfortunately too much to show on our web site.

I'm proud to say that Tamsen Munger Gallery has won many awards, including the Award of Merit for Gallery and Frame Shop design from Decor Magazine, and numerous growth awards from the publisher Greenwich Workshop.

Please feel free to call if you have questions about us or what we have in stock -- we love to help and thoroughly enjoy talking history especially WW II and Korea.
